From Bricks to Banking:
Chaska, MN

By 1907, success in the brickyard operation provided the means for Charles H. Klein, entrepreneur, school teacher, State Senator, and School Board member to envision a new family enterprise. The two brothers, C.H. Klein and C.P. Klein, purchased controlling shares of the First National Bank of Chaska. The bank building was constructed in 1907 at 214 North Chestnut Street. As the bank grew, additional space was needed and a new bank was built in 1929. The Klein Block, which housed the relocated bank, drug store and post office was erected on the west side of Chestnut Street. In 1967, a new First National Bank building was erected on the north side of Third Street to accommodate the growing needs of the bank. In 1997, First National Bank opened another full-service banking facility on the north side of town at the Chaska Commons to offer additional convenience to customers.
