From Bricks to Banking:
Victoria, MN

In 1911, after requests from numerous Victoria businessmen, C.H. Klein pioneered the construction of a new bank in Victoria, located on Main Street. Land was purchased August 30, 1911 and the charter was issued September 21, 1911. The original 750 square foot bank building had a value of $2900. During the Depression years of the 1930’s when many banks failed, Victoria State Bank continued to provide banking services to the community without interruption to its customers. In 1975, a mobile home trailer was added to allow for more space. In 1979, the bank moved to its new building conveniently located on Highway 5.
